WHAT IS NVIDIA® GEFORCE NOW FOR MAC AND PC?

The new GeForce NOW service gives you instant access to a virtual GeForce® GTX 1080 or 1060 gaming PC in the cloud. It turns your Mac or PC into a high-performance GeForce gaming machine.

WHAT DOES GEFORCE NOW FOR MAC AND PC INCLUDE?

  • Access to GeForce NOW from a Mac or PC by downloading the client app
  • A GeForce GTX 1080 or 1060 PC gaming experience streamed from our NVIDIA Pascal™ GPU-powered data centers in the cloud
  • The freedom to install your own games from game store platforms like Steam®, OriginTM, UplayTM, and GOG onto a virtual gaming PC in the cloud and play them on your Mac or PC
  • Plus, the option to install and play free-to-play titles like League of Legends via the GeForce NOW app

WHEN IS GEFORCE NOW FOR MAC AND PC LAUNCHING?

Early access begins in Q2 with users selected from the waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the GFN homepage to join the waitlist.

HOW MUCH DOES GEFORCE NOW COST?

Members can purchase 20 hours of on-demand playtime on a GeForce GTX 1060-class PC, or 10 hours of playtime on a GeForce GTX 1080-based PC, for $25. All new members receive 8 hours of free playtime on a GeForce GTX 1060 PC, or 4 hours on a GeForce GTX 1080 PC, when they register for service. You can visit the GFN homepage to join the waitlist.

HOW IS GEFORCE NOW FOR SHIELD DIFFERENT THAN GEFORCE NOW FOR MAC AND PC?

GeForce NOW for SHIELD provides a Netflix-style game-streaming experience. Members get instant, and unlimited, access to a game library that includes PC games. Premium titles can also be purchased in the GeForce NOW store. New games are added regularly, and all games require a gamepad (included with SHIELD TV) to play. GeForce NOW for SHIELD is priced at $7.99 per month, and your first month of service is free. More information can be found here.

GeForce NOW for Mac and PC provides you with instant, on-demand access to your own virtual GeForce GTX gaming PC in the cloud. You can use this machine to play games you own, or purchase new ones, on popular digital game stores like Steam®, UplayTM and OriginTM. The service provides a simple way to enjoy the latest games, with amazing visual quality, on machines that otherwise would not be able to run them. You can purchase 20 hours of on-demand playtime on a GeForce GTX 1060-class PC, or 10 hours of playtime on a GeForce GTX 1080-based PC, for $25. You will receive 8 hours of free playtime on a GeForce GTX 1060 PC, or 4 hours on a GeForce GTX 1080 PC, when you register for service. More information can be found here.

If you want to use both services, then you will need to register for each separately.

HOW ARE GAMES INSTALLED?

Games are downloaded and installed from game store platforms. You must log into these store platforms to verify game ownership before downloading. You must also accept any license agreements that are part of the normal download and install experience set by the publisher.

HOW ARE GAME STORE PLATFORMS INSTALLED?

You can select major game store platforms like Steam®, OriginTM, UplayTM and GOG from a list to download and install onto your virtual GeForce gaming PC. You will also need to accept any license agreements, just like you would on any PC.

HOW MANY GAMES CAN I INSTALL?

You can install up to 1TB of games, which are stored on the virtual GeForce gaming PC.

HOW ARE GAMES PLAYED?

Once a user has installed a game onto their virtual GeForce gaming PC, they can launch the game by clicking on its icon on the local Mac or PC. It will look like you are launching the game on your Mac or PC, when, in fact, GeForce NOW is launching it remotely on a virtual PC in the cloud and streaming it back to your Mac or PC.

WHERE IS THE SERVICE AVAILABLE?

GeForce NOW for Mac and PC will be available in the continental U.S.

WHEN WILL YOU BRING GEFORCE NOW TO OTHER PLATFORMS?

At this time, NVIDIA has announced this service for Mac and PC devices only.

DO I NEED TO MANAGE MY NVIDIA DRIVERS OR GAME UPDATES MYSELF?

No. All driver and games updates will be automatically managed by NVIDIA to keep your virtual GeForce gaming PC up to date.
