GAME24: 24 Hours, 1.3 Million Gamers, One Insane New Graphics Architecture

Banner ads. Television spots. Press releases. They’re great tools, if you want to sell soda. But that’s not how we wanted to really connect with PC gamers.

We had a story to tell that couldn’t be captured in a sound bite with our new Maxwell architecture.

That’s why we came up with GAME24, the world’s first live streamed 24-hour global celebration of PC gaming.

We wanted to do more than just introduce our customers – our community – to Maxwell, our new graphics architecture.

We wanted to bring the PC gaming industry together so we could celebrate all the great things that gaming has to offer.

And gamers responded, crowding into events in Shanghai, London, Los Angeles, Chicago, Indianapolis, Mission Viejo and Stockholm.

Even more showed up online.

More than 1.3 million more gamers from more than 120 countries tuned into the live stream to see developers, tech talks, a 24-hour modding competition, a Dota 2 tournament, and much more during the 24-hour event (see infographic, right).

We also donated $50,000 to Donate Games in the fight against cancer.

At the heart of the celebration was the launch of Maxwell and our new graphics cards, the GeForce GTX 980 and GeForce GTX 970.

NVIDIA’s newest GTX GPU architecture is more than just another new product.

It’s the result of years of work by more than a thousand engineers who poured everything they know about graphics into our next-gen technology.

It’s a story only our CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, could tell.

And from the moment Jen-Hsun welcomed the audience to Hangar 8 in Los Angeles gamers were blown away.

The celebration had begun. Maxwell – and our new GeForce GTX GPUs — have since been heralded for what they are: amazing.

Gamers are our friends, our family, and our community. It’s a great culture, and it’s a privilege to contribute to it.
