GamesCom 2013: Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Sets Sail On PC
Yesterday, NVIDIA and Ubisoft announced a technical alliance that will see the publisher’s best games enhanced with PC-exclusive effects and features like NVIDIA TXAA temporal anti-aliasing, NVIDIA HBAO+ ambient occlusion shadowing, DirectX 11 tessellation, and more. As part of the alliance, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag is playable on PC inside the NVIDIA GeForce GTX game room, giving the public its first opportunity to try the enhanced PC version of the hotly tipped title.
GamesCom attendees who entered the cutting-edge, GeForce GTX game room went hands-on with an exclusive single-player mission, offering a look at ship-to-ship combat, naval bombardment, and ship boarding, which switches the action to visceral hand-to-hand combat, the player having to physically ‘take’ the enemy’s vessel. To learn more, we spoke to Dr. Karl von der Luhe, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag’s Associate Producer.
Further details about the effects and features being added to Black Flag will be revealed on GeForce.com in the coming months, so stay tuned.
