Gamescom 2011: Gorgeous Need for Speed the Run Trailer Released

Hot off the heels of their Gamescom press conference, Electonic Arts has released a gorgeous Need for Speed: The Run trailer. How good does it look? Well, there's a disclaimer that reads, "the following is actual game footage."

The video shows two cars racing through snowy mountains. The car models look realistic and shine and shimmer as the should. Furthermore, the cars react appropriately to their terrain and realistically kick up snow as they drift.

What really makes the trailer awesome is its violent environment. One of the key features of the Frostbite engine is destructible physics and that is exemplified greatly here. Rocks fall down and shatter in front of the cars scarily and avalanches tumble down mountain sides and engulf trees with an intense hunger.

But what else would you expect from a racing game powered by the same engine that makes Battlefield 3 tick?

Gamers will be able to get their hands on these set of hot wheels when the game launches on November 18, 2011.
