Today, NVIDIA is proud to announce a new range of GeForce GTX notebook GPUs, which offer the same revolutionary features and benefits as the latest GeForce GTX desktop GPUs.

Our new lineup, comprised of GeForce GTX 800M GPUs, is up to 60% faster than previous-generation mobile GPUs, features improved power efficiency, and gives notebook gamers access to critically-acclaimed innovations like GeForce ShadowPlay, GameStream, and GPU Boost 2.0.

GeForce GTX 800M: Up To 60% Faster

GeForce GTX 800M notebooks are equipped with our latest Kepler and Maxwell GPUs, improving performance by up to 60% in comparison to previous-generation models. GeForce GTX 800M GPUs also increase efficiency, giving you more performance while using less power, something that’s particularly important when taking your notebook on the road.

Efficiency and architectural improvements enable numerous performance, battery life and feature improvements, but of greatest interest to notebook users is the reduction in size and weight of the notebooks themselves.

Introducing Battery Boost

Gaming notebooks deliver great gaming in portable designs, but haven't been able to deliver that great gaming experience while on battery. Most gamers play between 1 to 2 hours on average, something that current notebooks haven’t been able to deliver... until now.

With today’s launch of the GeForce GTX 800M Series, notebook gamers can get up to twice as much game time when unplugged, while still receiving the 30+ FPS experience they demand.

Without Battery Boost

To achieve this feat Battery Boost adjusts the power needs of the GPU, CPU, and memory automatically to deliver a user-targeted frame rate (30 FPS by default). Each notebook component is adjusted in real-time, maximizing efficiency, and ensuring buttery smooth gameplay, even when the action heats up during high-intensity moments. If the gamer demands faster frame rates or longer battery time, Battery Boost can be adjusted using a simple slider via GeForce Experience.

For even greater control, GeForce Experience has been upgraded to include per-game Adjustable Optimal Playable Setting functionality for Battery and AC gaming modes, enabling GeForce GTX 800M gamers to stretch their battery life even further on GeForce Experience supported titles. Combined, Battery Boost and Adjustable Optimal Playable Settings put complete control over image quality, performance, and battery life into the hands of the owner, allowing each individual to craft their perfect experience.

GeForce ShadowPlay: Now On Notebooks

Since its release in 2013 GeForce Experience has been installed on over 26 million GeForce GTX systems. On each of those systems it optimizes game settings for peak performance, and automatically downloads the latest drivers and game profiles. On desktop PCs, GeForce Experience also streams games to NVIDIA SHIELD, and enables players to capture in-game action with GeForce ShadowPlay Beta, a built-in, free app that has recorded over 3 million clips for GeForce Experience users, and streamed millions of hours of gameplay via Twitch.tv. Of these features, GeForce ShadowPlay is by far the most popular, and since its release notebook users have been screaming out for mobile GPU support.

Today, with the release of the new GeForce GTX 800M series, we can confirm the imminent launch of mobile GPU ShadowPlay support, enabling notebook gamers to capture, share, and broadcast their gameplay.

GeForce GTX 750 Class GPUs can capture live gameplay with GeForce ShadowPlay Beta.
GeForce GTX 800M and GTX 700M GPUs support ShadowPlay, as do the GeForce GTX 680M, GTX 675MX, GTX 670MX and GTX 660M.

These and many other GeForce Experience features come pre-loaded on GeForce GTX 800M notebooks, and will be available to download for other supported GPUs by the end of the month.

GameStream: Now On Notebooks

NVIDIA ShadowPlay’s critically acclaimed features are made possible by the H.264 encoder hardware integrated into every GeForce GTX Kepler and Maxwell GPU, and it is this same hardware that powers NVIDIA GameStream, a low latency technology that enables games to be streamed between GameStream-Ready devices, such as the NVIDIA SHIELD.

Like GeForce ShadowPlay, GeForce GTX 800M GPUs will support game-changing GameStream technology out of the box, with support for GeForce GTX 700M, and GeForce GTX 680M, GTX 675MX, GTX 670MX, and GeForce GTX 660M GPUs following later this month.
