PAX East 2013: Elder Scrolls Online
One of the busiest booths at PAX East was definitely Bethesda’s. Throngs of gamers had been lining up for a chance to try out the much anticipated The Elder Scrolls Online, an MMORPG set in Tamriel a millennium before Skyrim. We squeezed through the crowd to meet with Brian Wheeler, a Lead PvP Designer who is looking forward to battling for Cyrodiil as part of the Aldmeri Dominion or Ebonheart Pact himself.
Brian drew inspiration from various games like Fantasy MMORPG predecessor Dark Ages and even FPS games like Halo and Call of Duty to develop the game’s PvP strategy. By incorporating FPS elements like King of the Hill point capturing, he expects combatants to become more determined and strategic in defending their home bases. See what else Brian had to say regarding PvP structure, massive 200-player battles and even some PvE surprises.
