CD Projekt Red has finalised the minimum and recommended system requirements for The Witcher 2: Assassins Of Kings, their eagerly anticipated action role-playing game, due in stores May 17th.

As can be observed below, the requirements are surprisingly low considering some of the visual wonders seen in screenshots and videos, so it’s probably a safe bet to say that enabling every single bell and whistle at a high resolution will require a system that bit quicker. The requirements also appear to confirm that the game will not ship with DirectX 11 support, a fact previously mentioned in passing by The Witcher 2’s senior producer in an exclusive GeForce.com video interview.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows XP SP2 / Windows Vista SP2 / Windows 7 (32/64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+
  • Memory: 1 GB Windows XP / 2 GB Windows Vista and Windows 7
  • Video Card: 512 MB RAM, supporting Pixel Shader 3.0 (NVIDIA GeForce 8800)

Recommended System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows XP SP2 / Windows Vista SP2 / Windows 7 (32/64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad or AMD Phenom X4
  • Memory: 3 GB Windows XP / 4 GB Windows Vista and Windows 7
  • Video Card: 1 GB RAM, supporting Pixel Shader 3.0 (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260)
