Batman Wows Singapore Gamers With GeForce GTX 980 Ti and G-SYNC launch
With the evening Singapore skyline in the background, the dark and cavernous Hood Bar and Café looked like a Batcave of sorts as 100 gaming enthusiasts began to pour in. Welcoming them at the door was none other than the Caped Crusader himself. Many took the opportunity to pose with him and better yet, post their photos on Facebook – and got a Batman Lego keychain for keepsake.
Hands-on: A gaming fan getting a hold of the GeForce GTX 980 Ti, which may end up being his if he's posted the best write-up on the product on the NVIDIA Singapore Facebook page.
After Simon Tan, Director, Consumer Business, APAC South of NVIDIA, kicked off the event, Jeff Yen, Senior Technical Marketing Manager of NVIDIA introduced the new product line-up. The flagship GeForce GTX 980 Ti is three times faster than the GeForce GTX 680 and comes with DirectX12 support, 6GB of memory and 2,816 CUDA cores – enough to power 4K games today and in the future.
Spot on: The new G-SYNC laptops hit the sweet spot and appeal to all.
Complementing the Maxwell-based GPU in taking gaming to another level were the Acer 34 curved and Asus G-SYNC monitors, and G-SYNC notebook from ASUS, MSI, Aorus, and Aftershock. G-SYNC is NVIDIA's groundbreaking display technology that synchronizes the monitor refresh rate to the output from the GeForce GPU to deliver unbelievably smooth, tear-free gaming.
The new products certainly got the crowd – which included the media, bloggers and gamers – on their feet as many headed to the demo units to get a hands-on and experience the new technologies immediately after the presentation.
Man on: A participant posing with super heroes – Batman and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti.
And what has Batman got to do with the launch? Every purchase of the GeForce GTX 980 Ti comes with a free copy of Batman: Arkham Knight. That simply makes the deal too irresistible and had many gamers itching to get their hands on one of the cards.
