Blizzard’s Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft Now Available on the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet

SHIELD, Gaming News

At long last, NVIDIA SHIELD tablet owners will now know the unbelievably addictive qualities of Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Blizzard’s free-to-play collectible card game (CCG) where players engage in card-based battle against an opponent in an experience set within the Warcraft universe.

“Hearthstone’s intuitive interface and approachable design make it a perfect fit for tablets,” explains Blizzard’s CEO and Co-founder Mike Morhaime, “We’re excited to welcome Android players to the Hearthstone community....”

The SHIELD tablet version of Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft packs the same engrossing experience as the full PC version of the game. That means you’ll immediately be able to download Goblins vs. Gnomes, the game’s first major expansion. And there are quite a few ways to get your mitts on the new cards; you can buy Goblin vs. Gnomes booster packs using your hard-earned, real-life cash, or you can use in-game gold. In addition, you can use Arcane Dust to craft cards, and they’re also unlockable through the game’s Arena mode.

Blizzard also just implemented a new game mode dubbed Spectator mode, which as its name suggests allows you to watch other players’ matches in real-time.

Blizzard is all about the holiday spirit, and as such, all brand-new Hearthstone players on Android will get one free original card pack as soon as they fire up and complete any one game mode (win or lose). Of course, this complimentary booster pack will likely make you want to buy even more cards.

You can download Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft right now for free on the NVIDIA SHIELD tablet from the SHIELD Hub and through TegraZone. If you have already played Hearthstone on PC, you can log into your game on the SHIELD tablet with an existing account.
