E3 2011: Ghost Recon Online & Future Soldier Captured On Film - Page Two

Ghost Recon Online is Ubisoft’s answer to the ever growing number of free-to-play first-person shooters. Designed by Ubisoft Singapore, the game will be entirely free to play unless you want to accelerate your leveling or unlock an item prematurely.

Three classes are available, each with their own unique abilities, and as mentioned there are items to unlock also as your persistent character ranks up through repeated play. Matches are eight-versus-eight, with some of the planning and squad elements from Future Soldier and other Ghost Recon games being carried over to help make Ghost Recon Online a fast-paced, tactically-minded shooter.

If all goes to plan Ghost Recon Online will launch around the same time as Future Soldier this Fall, and if things go really well for the development teams some form of cross-game functionality is on the cards according to Ubisoft’s top brass.
