NVIDIA's Leslie Pirritano had the chance to sit down with Funcom game designer Ragnar Tørnquist to discuss The Secret World. Separating this MMORPG from the pack is its unique setting. The game takes place in an Earth where all the myths, legends, and fables you heard of growing up are real. This means the game's universe has werewolves, vampires...and yes, even zombies.
Another feature that sets The Secret World apart is the fact that it has no classes or even experience levels. Rather, the MMO has over 500 different skills players can choose from to methodically create the character they want to play as.
On the narrative front, players will be able to join one of three secret societies (Templars, Dragon, and Illuminati) to stand against the darkness engulfing the world.
In regards to the visuals, the game uses a heavily modified version of the DreamWorld Engine(Age of Conan). Using this engine, Funcom is aiming to deliver the most beautiful and realistic-looking MMO yet.
Players will be able to test out The Secret World on their gaming rigs come April 2012.
