BioWare has announced Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes, a free-to-play game based on EA Mythic's monthly-subscription-based Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning MMO. The exclusive PC game will be the Canadian developer's first Play4Free title and releases this fall.
Visually, Wrath of Heroes looks much more cartoony when compared to its predecessor and pushes a bolder cel-shaded and colorful look. While Age of Reckoning used Gamebryo, a game engine that is capable of supporting DirectX 11, it is unknown at this time what engine Wrath of Heroes will use and whether or not it will support DX11.
Like Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning before it, Wrath of Heroes will focus on fast-paced, competitive PvP arena gameplay. Furthermore, gamers will be able to swap heroes on the fly and participate in 18-player battles across three different races amounting to 6v6v6 engagements.
