#GRIDTuesday Adds Indie Games to GRID Library
There are scores of inventive, engaging games to be found in the Indie development community. For evidence you need look no further than this week’s #GRIDTuesday update, which adds Stacking and PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate to the GRID Games library on your SHIELD device.
Stacking is an addictive adventure/puzzle game that is based on concepts derived from Russian matryoshka”stacking dolls. You must discover, capture, and stack dolls together, and then use each doll’s unique abilities to get past obstacles in the game. A liberal dose of humor is sprinkled throughout the engaging story, which is revealed to you as you solve each puzzle. Stacking has a four-star rating on Metacritic, and it’s safe to say you’ve probably never played anything like it—so give it a try today!
PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate, meanwhile, is a tower defense game that invites you to take on the role of Tikiman and help him defend the inhabitants of his forest realm from hordes of invading, and very hungry, monsters. You use limited resources to build different weapon towers and place them at strategic points to destroy the invaders, collecting treasure along the way that lets you upgrade your defenses. Well-received by critics, PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate is one of those “just one more level” games that’s tough to stop playing once you start.
The addition of these titles expands the GRID library to 26 games valued at more than $400, which you can play on-demand on your SHIELD device for free. And NVIDIA’s committed to releasing new games every week on #GRIDTuesday—so mark your calendars!
GRID is an on-demand gaming service that streams a library of popular games to SHIELD devices in high definition, with fluid frame rates and low latency. GRID is like Netflix for games, and it’s available exclusively to SHIELD owners in North America and most of Western Europe for free though June 30, 2015. Coverage will be expanded to include Germany and the Asia Pacific Region next year. Go here to learn more.
