Mass Effect 3 Unveiled

BioWare has revealed footage on Mass Effect 3. The developer confirmed that the short snippet that fans saw on Spike.com’s promotional Video Game Awards trailer was indeed footage of Mass Effect 3. BioWare also stated that the sci-fi role-playing game would release sometime during holiday 2011.
In conjunction with their announcement, BioWare has released the game’s first trailer. The video can be seen on the game’s official website. The trailer begins by showcasing a British-accented soldier shooting at aliens from a war-torn tower. The game is said to take place on Earth and the environments are beat-up and appear to be under heavy alien fire. The soldier mentions that the mysterious enemy has killed millions, and that the only hope for survival rests in the hands of Commander Shepard.
“At BioWare, we are always driving ourselves to improve and I firmly believe our best work is still ahead of us,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, Group General Manager and Co-Founder of BioWare. “We could not be prouder of the team’s accomplishments with Mass Effect 2, and are excited and humbled by all of the recognition the game has received so far. We can’t wait to show you what the team is doing to make Mass Effect 3 an even bigger success.”
The two previous Mass Effect RPGs have received tremendous support in terms ofr reviews and sales. Mass Effect 2 is currently the highest-reviewed game of 2011 on review-aggregate website Metacritic.com.
