Mortal Kombat X Officially Announced for PC

Following what seemed like an endless stream of rumors, hints, and spoilers, Mortal Kombat X has finally been announced.

Ed Boon, creative director of NetherRealm Studios, made the news official on Monday via his Twitter account, with publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirming that the game will be launching on PC and consoles.

Mortal Kombat X's announcement trailer also reveals that long-running protagonists/antagonists Scorpion and Sub-Zero will both be part of the game's initial roster of characters. You can watch the two iconic ninjas face off in a bloody confrontation in the debut trailer embedded above.

Warner Bros. will be showcasing the new Mortal Kombat game at E3 2014 next week, with the game's official release date slated for 2015.
