NVIDIA CEO & Battlefield 3 Lead Developer To Kick-off GeForce LAN 6

October 6, 2011

The sixth GeForce LAN kicks off October 14th on the USS Hornet aircraft carrier in Alameda, California, and if forty-eight hours of non-stop PC gaming, contests, panels, tournaments, and prize giveaways weren’t enough, two special guests will now be making an appearance at the event.

The first is NVIDIA’s own CEO and President, Jen-Hsun Huang, responsible for leading the company and making strategic choices that impact the PC gaming landscape for years to come. Jen-Hsun, who will open the event at 6pm PST on the 14th, will be joined at GeForce LAN 6 by Johan Andersson, DICE’s Visual Architect, who will be giving a special presentation about the making of Battlefield 3. Including brand new, exclusive info, you don’t want to miss Andersson’s presentation if you’re a fan of the first-person shooter.

If you wish to attend the event, and bring your own PC to play on the gigantic LAN with like-minded gamers, the final batch of Bring Your Own PC (BYOC) tickets will go on sale tonight, October 6th, at 9PM PST. A few General Admission tickets are also available for those wanting to attend panels, see the sights, and enter into the various events that will be announced soon on the GeForce LAN 6 homepage.

In addition, there’ll be a 64-player Battlefield 3 multiplayer setup, featuring three brand new maps, PC workshops from NVIDIA technology partners, introductions and demonstrations of new 3D Vision products, and full access to the USS Hornet’s museum, hangar bays, war rooms and flight decks for history buffs. And of course, you can also sleep in the ship in the crew quarters, assuming you don’t pass out at your computer first from constant gaming.

Videos and event coverage will be posted on GeForce.com during and after the event, so stay tuned for summaries of all the best bits if you’re unable to make it in person.
