NVIDIA SHIELD Gets Three New Games and a New GRID Server Location
Strider, the action/platformer series revival, is now available to play on SHIELD. And GRID is expanding with a new datacenter in California that reduces latency for SHIELD owners in the Southwestern United States.
Become Strider Hiryu
Strider marks the modern revival of an arcade classic in which you play Strider Hiryu, an elite assassin sent to the industrial metropolis of Kazakh City to confront the villainous Grandmaster Meio.
Remembered for its inspired art direction and visually rewarding gameplay, the original version of Strider introduced to arcades in 1989 by Capcom is a timeless classic that saw versions and sequels ported to the NES, Commodore 64, Sega Master System and more.
The latest version of Strider retells the original story with crisp, modern visuals and level designs experienced with some of the most responsive controls ever to grace the genre. The game rewards exploration and encourages players to change and adapt their style of play to overcome escalating challenges.
Strider is the first of three new games being added to the GRID Games library—LEGO Movie the Videogame and Dirt 3: The Complete Edition will follow on April 28 and May 5, respectively. Use the hashtag #SHIELDTuesday on Twitter to tell us which PC games you’d like us to add next.
To play Strider, navigate to the GRID Games menu within SHIELD Hub, select the game from the list of available titles, and enjoy!
GRID Is Growing
The new “USA South West” datacenter is now online, which will assure reduced latency for all SHIELD gamers in the Southwest United States. You’ll be automatically connected to the new datacenter if it is closer to you, based on your ping time. To see which datacenter you’re connected to, click Settings in the SHIELD Hub menu, then GRID. Tap on Service Location, then Test Connection and Show Details to see what your ping time is to the nearest GRID data center.
The GRID Games library now includes 47 PC games that you can play on SHIELD devices, and we’re adding new games regularly. Join the conversation on Twitter and use the hashtag #SHIELDTuesday to tell us which PC games you’d like us to add next.
