Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is an indie game with the rare distinction of having won multiple Game of the Year awards, as well as awards for Best Innovation, Best Story, and Family Game of the Year. Play it today on your SHIELD device and discover why.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is driven by a rich narrative that’s reason enough to give it a go. Gameplay that combines adventure, puzzle-solving, and platform-style elements, with unique controls make it a “no brainer.”
We dare you not to care about the main characters—two brothers that undertake a perilous journey to try to save their ailing father, having already witnessed their mother’s tragic death years ago. The two boys must journey far, work together to overcome many deadly obstacles, and look out for one another if they are to be successful.
It’s rare to find a game these days that dares to put so much emphasis on story, particularly one with gameplay to match. You’ll need to control both brothers at the same time—each may be manipulated independently by each thumbstick—to get past environmental challenges, or hostile characters. Naia, being stronger than his younger brother, can lift Naiee to reach higher places, for example. And Naiee, being smaller, can get past obstacles his brother cannot.
The puzzle and action elements make brilliant use of these innovative controls and, backed by the gripping, emotional tale that unfolds as you progress, are why Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons carries a score of 90 on MetaCritic.
To play, just navigate to the GRID Games menu inside the SHIELD Hub app, select Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons from the list of available titles, and enjoy!
