Rig Spotlight: QuakeCon 2015 Anniversary Rig

GeForce Garage, Rig Spotlights

Back in July, GeForce Garage went to Dallas for QuakeCon with the intent of teaching a few modding seminars and building an amazing QuakeCon-themed rig onsite. We invited some of the best modders around like PCJunkieMods, BSMods and Modders Inc. to give us a hand.

With each seminar, the crowds grew and the rig began to took form. From gutting the chassis to cutting a huge case window, from planning the hardline loop to custom-sleeved cables, the QuakeCon mod was looking pretty impressive and attendees were excited for a chance to win it.

And right before we were supposed to announce the winner, we sprang a leak.

But we promised rig winner Dominique (here with some of the QuakeCon team) that we would fix it.

Just goes to show that not everything always goes smoothly when it comes to modding even- with the best in the industry. But we proclaimed "We can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability. Better than before." And rebuild it we did.
