Ubisoft has released The Manhattan Project downloadable content for its strategy game R.U.S.E. The DLC is free and is now available on Valve's popular digital download service Steam.

The Manhattan Project Pack offers new challenges, including 3 exclusive multiplayer maps, along with 2 additional multiplayer modes. According to Ubisoft, "These modes will affect strategy and pace, and allow players to create nuclear cannons and benefit from accelerated technology evolution."

The layouts for the multiplayer maps are as follows:

  • Twilight of the Gods, 2 vs 2
  • Vesuvio, 2 vs 2
  • Guns and Tulips, 3 vs 3

The two additional multiplayer modes are:

  • Nuclear War: all the prototypes factories, researches and upgrades are unlocked from the beginning.
  • Total War: the player starts in 1939 with the units and the specificities of that time. He will then unlock 1942 units and 1945 units step by step.

Released back in September, R.U.S.E. is a real-time strategy game that focuses more on "information warfare" as opposed to creating units that promote brute force.
