The Future Was Played At Gamescom 2015
Gamescom broke records once more when it closed its doors last Sunday. In total, 345,000 visitors, up from 335,000 last year, attended the world's largest event for computer and video games from August 5th to August 9th, 2015. Under this year's motto, "The Next Level of Entertainment", more gaming fans than ever before celebrated the world of digital games in Cologne, Germany, and experienced next-generation games and technologies at the always-popular NVIDIA stand.
This year, our expansive booth played host to Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, three Oculus Rift Virtual Reality demo rooms, two HTC Vive Virtual Reality demo rooms, and the NVIDIA SHIELD, which is coming to European living rooms in the near future.
In the Call of Duty: Black Ops III GeForce GTX gaming room, 36 GeForce GTX TITAN X BattleBox PCs provided by German retailer Mifcom gave attendees the performance to play the eagerly anticipated game at 4K at super fast framerates on NVIDIA G-SYNC monitors.
Next door, another 30 high spec BattleBox PCs could be found running the upcoming Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, enabling attendees to partake in some destructive 5v5 multiplayer.
Elsewhere, our Virtual Reality Oculus Rift and HTC Vive demo rooms drew five-hour queues, with endless numbers of gamers wanting to Play The Future.
Attendees could also go hands-on with SHIELD, the 4K-capable TV and gaming device that's garnering excellent reviews in North America. SHIELD is launching in Europe in the not too distant future, so there was plenty of interest from gamers and tech lovers eager to see the small but powerful device in action.
Last but not least, our stand featured the NVIDIA Green Room, where videos, interviews, and other hijinks were filmed. So much was filmed, in fact, that we couldn't fit it all into our previous videos, so here's our man Dan with one final show floor vid.
